Located on the peninsula of Nicoya, Carrillo Puerto is a small coastal town that belongs to the province of Guanacaste on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Hojancha constitutes the third district of Canton and is located about 5 km from Samara Beach.
Playa Carrillo is full of palm trees and white sand. The coast is usually never busy, which makes it a perfect place to relax and escape from stressful days at work. While you relax, you can enjoy the stunning scenery of lush mountains in the distance are drawn and serve as a beautiful frame for the beach.

Located three miles south of Playa Samara, Carrillo village is characterized by a pleasant atmosphere of tranquility and comfort in a small scale. The noise and distractions in the village are minimal, which makes Playa Carrillo the perfect location to relax to other bustling days in the country.
Playa Carrillo is a popular destination for international travelers and Ticos alike as local spend much time on the beaches of the country, especially during the holidays. There are a number of restaurants, and nightclubs for those desiring to enjoy any one of them, all near Playa Samara.
With the construction of a well-paved road 150, transported to Playa Carrillo has never been easier. The road runs south through Nicoya to Samara and Carrillo. Air transport is also available through domestic airlines trips departing daily to Samara Airport, which is located just outside the village. Buses leaving Nicoya and San Jose respectively, are also available every day regularly.
